Negril morass - bodies? - JonTom - 07-22-2014 A recent article on one of the many "bog bodies" got me thinking about the Negril Morass and the peat bog there. ("bog bodies" are those, usually, very well preserved bodies found in various peat bogs all over the world. Some up to 8 or 9 thousand years old. I've read of them and seen programs in the past - recently there was new analysis of one of the more famous/well-preserved bodies). Given that they've been found in geographically diverse areas (UK, Germany, Denmark, etc.), I was wondering if something similar could've occurred in Negril's Morass. I don't know that it is actually a peat bog - I've been told that it is peat - particularly when it is on fire. Wouldn't it be neat/interesting if some very old Taino or Arawak remains were in there? Cynic in me says "yeah, bodies are in there - just not that old". I prefer to envision some ancient secrets buried just steps from the beach.
