Abuteka? - Flintstone - 02-09-2015 I likely spelled this wrong. Some friends recommended this place its the old ice block plant and water source.Twenty seven US for admission light lunch and no beverages plus transport? Is it worth a look or no? RE: Abuteka? - Mike_D - 02-09-2015 I think it's spelled "Abeokuta". We were just there back in November. It's a nice afternoon trip, worth spending a couple hours there. They have an optional tour of the hiking trail that leads to the spring (for an extra fee). We opted out of that, but our driver went to check it out on his own. The main attraction is the pool, where we spent most of our time. The pool includes a rope swing and it has these little fishes that eat the dead skin from your feet. Great view from the top of the hill, as well. I think I only paid $10 for admission, but we didn't have lunch there. We stopped in downtown Sav and grabbed chicken and rice for $5. RE: Abuteka? - Flintstone - 02-09-2015 Thanks mike , I thought the price seems steep, esp. since there would be about 16 people going. Ten bucks would be reasonable. RE: Abuteka? - Mike_D - 02-10-2015 Yeah, $27 is steep, even with lunch included. Especially, if you have to pay for your own transportation. I wouldn't pay more than 10 for admission. If you want to eat lunch or do the tour that should be optional and not included in the price. We didn't try the food, but there were a few people eating lunch when we arrived. It looks like a very basic cook shop. |
