businessman was shot and killed by unknown assailants at his home in Negril, Westmoreland last night.
Dead is 45-year-old Guesthouse operator Crawford Brown of West End, Negril.
Reports are that about 11 p.m., brown rode his bicycle home after playing dominoes with friends in the community.
It is further reported that as brown was about to enter his house, he was pounced upon by two masked, gunmen, who ordered him inside.
The gunmen allegedly took the businessman into the bathroom where he was shot in the head.
He was also reportedly robbed of an undetermined sum of money.
The Negril police are investigating.

38-year-old Roger Scott, a Negril businessman, was shot and killed on Sunday, May, 22 while sitting at his bar.
According to the police, the businessman of Orchid Avenue, Whitehall was at his bar at 9:05 pm, when three men walked up to him and opened gunfire, hitting him several times in the upper body.
The men escaped in the area on foot.
However, the residents' report on the incident conflict with the police report.
One resident told Loop News that Scott was standing with his young daughter when two men rode up on a motorcycle and opened gunfire hitting him multiple times.
"The gunmen escaped the community on a motorcycle," said the resident.
The child, according to the resident was not physically hurt.

The article says he was shot at his home...possibly in a bathroom? So unclear on who could have been caught in the crossfire.
The situation with gun violence sucks, so bad in Westmoreland and Hannover parishes but statements like this worry visitors that there was a shoot-out on the main street (which, in Negril thankfully has not happened).

1/2 the shootings in Redground happen in little bars on the street . In fact my friends son-in-law was murdered on the steps of a bar in Redground and 2 other people were hit that had nothing to do with the crime .

MAIN street....aka West End Road...aka the Beach Road.
Innocent bystanders were shot on Lime Tree Lane last year. Redground and Lime Tree Lane are not frequented by many tourists. When visitors read comments that make the WHOLE of Negril look like the OK Corral it makes them "nervous" and comes off as "hysterical".
You all know I have a flash point about this kind of stuff - but the reality is that the gun violence has nothing to do with tourists or MOST residents in Negril....they are not targeted and the violence takes place OFF the main tourist track (at least so far, one never knows does one).
And for those of us that spend a good deal of time off the beaten track we are all very well aware of what can take place. Night time is not the right time there, not anymore.
