If I heard of it, it was forgotten. "Negril mini-stadium project" ... a what??? RE: Norman Manley Beach Park project - CardBoardBox - 09-14-2018 Location is South most (infered west on some maps) before the traffic circle. I liked the old days of 4 rows of vendors, replaced by many on the concrete pad. The buildings on 'fish beach' are an improvement. As somewhat usual, the user comments on that news page are provoking. Getting something done (restarted) is good IF the plan is good. And while I could make general comments, this one part sticks: "... kept in perpetuity for the people of Jamaica and the people of Negril free of charge." Reasoning is the Goat Island fishery area near Kingston was supposed to be in perpetuity (1956, B 4 the Chinese got involved), and I recall the public park/beach on the walk to MBJ which has an admission charge. Someday maybe? But me just finding faults does not improve this project, and I think it is a good project. Cutting through the park to walk on the beach is shorter than the beach road to get to the start of the hotels.
