Student gunned down in Negril - Firemon - 03-25-2019
An 11th grade student of Green Island High School in Hanover was shot and killed by a yet unknown assailant in Negril, Westmoreland on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Kehian Pryce, also called Kie’ and ‘Pengay’, of Negril, Westmoreland.
Reports are that about 7:00 p.m., Pryce and a male friend were sitting under a tree in a yard when two men rode up on a motorcycle.
The pillion rider reportedly dismounted and brandished a handgun with which he opened fire, hitting Pryce multiple times to the upper body.
The youngster reportedly ran off and collapsed in the yard.
The shooter then escaped on the waiting motorcycle in the direction of West End main road.
The police were alerted and Pryce was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police investigations continue into the development.

These types of killings are happening more and more - the murdered man and his wife Erica owned a pretty nice guest house in Negril.
[b]Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland:[/b] [b]Businessman Murdered –[/b] A popular Westmoreland businessman was shot and killed by gunmen along a section of Namprel Road, in the parish of Westmoreland on Sunday afternoon, March 24.
He has been identified as 43-year-old, Lajuane Bruce, business operator, who resided at Daws Lane, in Negril, Westmoreland.
Reports by the Negril police are that about 1:35 p.m. on Sunday, Bruce drove his Mercedes Benz motor car to a section of Namprel Road, where he was pounced upon by gunmen who shot him multiple time.
Residents alerted the police and upon their arrival, Bruce was discovered slumped around the steering wheel, while suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rember the good old days when the worst violence was done by the Jamaican John Deere , that’s what I call a machete, they use em for everything. Gun problem down there is getting out of control. Some of the weapons they are finding is boggling. An M16, Ruger 9 mil and colt 45s.
I know they are coming in from Haiti, and how. But that’s another topic. Something needs to be done. I have no ideas besides more officers.
Saddened by the amount of deaths of Jamaicans I personally know.

shocked by the number of Jamaican friends and acquaintances that have tragically died , yet alone passed from illness !

Daniel the illness you mention touched me as I too have had friends die over the years of what are totally treatable illnesses in my country. Feels even tougher to accept.

West end lover,, Haiti is being blamed for everything at the moment, but clearly they are a transit point not the real source, now that is an issue to discuss in honest terms
