Jamaica 2020 - daniel - 04-20-2020
We had a low key holiday planned , and it all panned out . Spent the month of Feb. on the water in Lances bay . Our Airbnb was right next to the fishing beach . We ate well , swam , and relaxed . Did get out a few times , Third World @Woodstock , Jah Cure@ Rootz , both good shows . Enjoyed spending time with friends . Had planned the month of March in Negril , we came home early on the 20th , leaving an empty NBCC .

Is that airbnb a place you regularly stay? We have used that site for places in Europe but never Jamaica. Some were great, some were horrible.
Did you have much interaction with the fisherman? When we stayed in Port Antonio there was a beach used by them close to our hotel. I watched them come in to check out their haul, they pretty much ignored us, not quite to the point of being rude, but definitely indifferent.

It was our first time staying at this particular place , although we have stayed close by , at LeMer , for years . We know the owner , and had visited this property in the past , before it was a rental ,so we knew about it . The fisherman can be very indifferent , true , but most are friendly , and there was not always fish available to us , they do take care of their regulars first . Truly we ate like kings . Best meal cooked by house chef , CravenA . He deboned a whole 5+ lb red snapper and served it baked stuffed . We also ate barracuda , kingfish , yellow snapper , parrot(iknow) , crab and lobster . The house was in a typical JA yard , Auntie V. and family closest to the lane , with A Seaside Gem being a world apart seaside . We really liked it , and the privacy of a stand alone house . Watching the boats come in and out was entertaining ,not obtrusive at all . We had water toys , 2 inflatable kayaks , and a paddle board , plus I had left snorkle and fishing gear from previous trips . House also had the best wifi ever in Jamaica , fast and always on .

Thanks Daniel for all the nice pictures and description of the area. We had a great trip this year (over 2 months) but like yours cut a bit short by our airlines last flight out because of the virus.
We will have to look at where you stayed for a side trip some time in the future.
