I don't visit the Jamaican news sites as often as I might, though I read the paper daily while on the island.
As trivia,
May 4 saw 2500 people in Negril line up for a food giveaway. Some of the $$ came from the tourist tax. Would be nice if they printed that fact on the boxes.
Another is planned for 2 weeks hence.

The exchange rate is 147 to 1, up from around 127 when I was there in Feb

BTW 60% of fuel is LPG which is more stable than gas/oil.
