I don't visit the Jamaican news sites as often as I might, though I read the paper daily while on the island.
As trivia,
May 4 saw 2500 people in Negril line up for a food giveaway. Some of the $$ came from the tourist tax. Would be nice if they printed that fact on the boxes.
Another is planned for 2 weeks hence.

The exchange rate is 147 to 1, up from around 127 when I was there in Feb
JPS the power people are expecting to see increase bills by J$500 a month, citing the exchange rate, decreased business use but increased consumer use.

BTW 60% of fuel is LPG which is more stable than gas/oil.
Bars were allowed to open on Monday, with "distancing" requirements. Restricted hours/stay at home still in place, but 2 days of zero new C-19 cases.
