sat fishery so to speak - oldtimer - 05-07-2023 $5.25/lb CDN for market lobster ( these can be exported ) and $5.00lb Cdn for canners ( these can't be exported ) It takes ( on the average ) 3 canners to get a pound of meat . a 2lb market lobster will get you ( on average ) a lb of meat . My son pulled all his gear Sat and did terrible as did everyone . 90% of the lobsters caught are males ????? Maybe because the fall native fishery lands 98% female !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He figures he lost $10,000 last week . I hope this clears up . I'm sure it will get better and along comes the native fall fishery again . In 2 years there won't be a lobster fishery for the non-natives because the government buys their gears and they don't have to land a pound ...no payments to be made .
