That is friggin ridiculous to murder an innocent child because of a man who probably is not even worth it. Makes me sick. May that little girl rest in peace.

Wow - that is too sad. Nothing to do with this story but it reminded me of how hard life can be in Jamaica I remember once I was walking up near the housing scheme in Negril and a young mother with an infant in her arms came running out to me and started begging me to "buy her baby" Was she being selfless - wanting a better life for her baby - or was she being selfish - wanting a better life for herself without the baby? I guess it would have a lot to do with who the father was.

Tammy - I looked at the young mother with tears in my eyes and told her "you don't want to do that - today might be a bad day but this beautiful child is your miracle " She looked into my eyes with a cold dead stare and walked away. I have heard of an orphanage Jeannie - I can't remember the name or where it is right now. I recall seeing pictures and it was a very sad situation. There were a lot of handicap kids there - all the kids people didn't want. I used to wonder why all the fund raisers were for negril schools and school supplies when their were places (like that place) where they are struggling to meet the children's basic needs. I wish I was in a position to do something - but I am not. I don't like even thinking about it as it hurts so much. The thing is there are plenty of generous folks who travel to Jamaica but people tend to pick charities that make them comfortable. Just thinking about those parent-less children is too hard for most - what a way to bum out a vacation...
