I will watch this at work tomorrow, my home computer is too slow. Yeah the mosquito problems in the Caribbean seem to be elevated this year. I pretty much never ever get bit --- maybe the first week or two those nasty sand fleas try & get to me but, as long as I'm not on the beach from 4:00pm on, I'm relatively safe. I'm actually definitely NOT a fan of the beach, when living there from 1972-1979 I actually went there twice a year at the most, and then only when I had friends visiting me from the U.S.
This is a good time of year for me to disappear from my job, the last time I went to JA in the summer it was kind of horrid, just SO HUMID and HOT. From the time I got off the plane, my first thought was "I paid MONEY for this???"
Even when I lived in JA long term, I could not stand the summer time period in Negril. We would leave the area & go into the Blue Mountains outside of Kingston where it was relatively cool. I think this place is non-existent now, but used to be called "Bannana House" -- once a retreat of Benedict Arnold. We snooped and snooped and found porn type of stuff there -- a Chinese woman in a Mercedez Benz used to come to collect the rent. We didn't have a cook so used to have to drive down to Kingston on a pretty much nightly basis for food. That drive was absolutely HORRID. I actually blame my high blood pressure to those drives. Total drop offs on the side of the road, TOTAL burned out trucks and cars on the drop offs in full view.
Once we got down to town though, very nice meals we were able to get. Which we brought back up to Irish Town to eat. YUM. each and every time. Those rides those, for me, were pretty much horrific.
