Seems like the Marley family wins this award every year. (By my count Ziggy leads everyone with 7; Stephen 3; and Jr. Gong 3.)
Julian probably has no chance because of this dominance (sic) backlash but his album is a deserving nominee. Quite good.
Jamaica's Reggae Ambassadors aka Third World recorded a masterpiece with captivating tribal rhythms and percussion.

England Steel Pulse remained true to their identity with highly political and intense lyrics coupled with a strong pulsating beat.
Sly & Robbie are legendary One Drop mainstays.
Aside from Julian and Koffee they're all Old School nominees. (Bit surprised neither Chronixx or Proteje.)
Given her unprecedented meteoric rise in popularity I'm expecting Koffee "Rapture" will Capture the award this year.

Sting & Shaggy won last year.
