I don't really follow that analogy. So are you suggesting nobody travel anywhere until there is a vaccine?
Tim, we haven't even leveled out the initial phase of the virus. There is likely to be a second round coming in the fall. Texas, NC, FL, AZ, and a few other states infection rates are up again after an initial reduction with the shelter in place orders.
I don't think we have to wait for a vaccine (though that would be best), but what is currently on track to happen (and happening in other islands already, as cases expand in those islands) seems pretty short sighted and foolish to me.
Who do you mean by "we"? In our province there are 18 current cases of covid 19, the lowest number since mid March. 11 people have died from this disease since the beginning, many more people in our province have died by other diseases in that time. How many died of lung cancer due to smoking in the last 3 months here - I would bet far more than 11.
The closures of businesses is doing far more damage, people are going broke, their mental nealth is taking a shit kicking.
IMO, things needs to open up. Our Prime Minister is handing out money like it just rolls off a printing press in his garage. Canada is going to be in far greater debt than anyone ever imagined.
