Last year I went fishing/trolling and was considering giving it a try again. Last year the boat never got very far offshore and was trolling with old jigs where the plastic was dried out and with no cigar minnow or any other bait tied to the jig.
I got on pretty cheap as a walk up to fill an empty slot. I know how fishing goes and that is why the call it fishing instead of catching. But I was disappointed with the equipment or lack there of and the fact we were so close in although maybe that is all it takes on a good day.
I did one day last year see what appeared to be a fish feeding frenzy on the MoBay side of Booby Island that lasted for quite some time and there were just 2 small panga boats in that area. It was too far off to tell exactly what was happening or if the small boats were able to take advantage of the situation even with binoculars. I could tell though it was not just birds like pelicans diving at the water it was coming from the bottom up.
So all that said, if I do decide to go again this year does anyone have any suggestions?
