Jitters -
http://mysteryshop.org/avoid-scammers - below is from this site "Scammers are operating by pretending to be the MSPA or our member companies, and seeking shopper details by email or telephone. MSPA North America neither advises shoppers to respond to any email requesting payment from them in advance of conducting assessments, nor to any requests that they cash checks and wire the funds to someone else. Unfortunately, scammers sometimes use the MSPA name or the name of a member. Never click a link you are not sure is real. If there is any question, reach MSPA and our members only through this site. Please be aware that scammers are sending emails and letters with the MSPA logo and MSPA member logos. It is not the operating procedure of a mystery shopping provider to send you a check prior to completing a mystery shopping assignment. If you have any questions about a check, contact the company; don't just go to the website. Hackers are stealing the website identities of companies and creating websites that look legitimate. A little extra time in checking the validity will save you a lot of money in the long run. If you have already received checks or money orders from a scammer, you can report it to the National Consumers League at http://www.fraud.org via the online complaint form. In addition, you can report scams for further investigation to the Federal Trade Commission by clicking here: Federal Trade Commission Scam Reporting."

I did this for a little while. It was fun, but it won't pay the rent. There is no training, there should be no cost to you. You sign up, when there is a "shop" in your area they will contact you. You can accept or turn it down. You do the shop, turn in your report and about a week of two later you get a check. If you can write a decent report, you get more jobs. Most jobs pay $10 to $20. Avoid all shops that make you purchase something, even if you can return it. It costs more in time and gas then the shop is worth. There are a ton of bogus business out there right now. Be very careful.

Hello
Yes, I have worked as a mystery shopper. No money out of my pocket and payments were done through pay pal. I signed up with mystery shopping companies online that sent me assignments. Most paid around $15 to $25 per shop.

Thanks Ladies.
And Thank you Macy, I asked her to come share with us. Were you doing it for a National company? Would you do it again I imagine a lot has to do with where you live and how many opportunities there are. One would not want to commute very far at those wages thats for sure Can anyone tell me how long it takes? Were you able to do several assignments per day / week or was it just an occasional fling here and there?
