A rather scathing audit report on the Jamaica Fire Brigade.
"Fire Alarm! Audit Finds Several Emergency Vehicles Out Of Service, Brigade's Capacity To Respond Weakened"
http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20140625/lead/lead5.html
Some disturbing numbers: 37% of fire hydrants don't work. Only 1 in 6 ambulances in operation. 4 fire stations with no working pumper truck.
Side note - have to admit the last sentence doesn't make any sense despite re-reading 5 times. What the heck is "reverse response method" to a fire/emergency call? We don't come to you, bring your fire to us?
This one from the Observer focuses more on the budget of the JFB. It does have a doozy also about the Kingston Fire Station not meeting their own (ill-defined) fire standards.
