Why in the last quarter century, or maybe a little longer, do we have something called ADHD? Going back a century, maybe children worked harder in agriculture, or even as child labour in factories, now they are expected to sit unstimulated in a classroom, or in front of a television.
Today you have red, green, yellow, blue, pink soda, garbage (that might be in a song I heard). Lots of processed foods, preservatives, artificial lighting, electromagnetic fields, (cell phones, computers), poison car exhaust, and kids living in concrete jungles, not in touch with nature.
If ADHD wasn't around 50 or 100 years ago, what happened for it to be here today? Is it real, or a reaction to poison being introduced to the body?
Also for teachers to insist on medication, or pressure parents to go that way is a crime. They are not even close to being qualified to speak on a child's medical needs.

one of my visits to jahb's i met a boy that was being beaten daily from my son's condition - i recognized what might be going on with him i had a talk with the grandmother - that had him caged in the store with her when he was not getting whipped almost to death by his dad my conversation met with interest - but - alas - i was on vacation and not able to carry out any fruitful plans with her - although i tried subsequent trips - the boy is not around - not sure where he is - grandmother acts like she never met me ritalin used to be the thing - not anymore - loads of medications are tested, tried and true but again - i tried diet, biofeedback, punishment - before trying meds and one day - i took one of his meds to see what it was about - lawd - i couldn't function at all and my son had a good laugh at that at his age now - we can talk about his "condition" - how the meds make him feel (he won't miss a dose going to school) - his social interactions (loads of problems with his friends before meds) if you meet him - and i think likkle red did - he's an active bright eyed curious kid but i have put a lot of work into investigating ADHD and i'm open about it - to the point i have other parents reaching out to me - i paid a child advocate (at one point in my life) to help me navigate the terms and school system - she got $25 an hour - i help out for free - with IEPs, support, listening it is a real condition - maybe over diagnosed - but real - and unfortunately - too many untreated people end up in jail but yes - try all the alternatives - because every child does not have ADHD - but be prepared to go the distance to help your child function within the norms of society as i tell my son - if you want to act crazy - go in your room :-) as much as we may want to divert from society - there are still boundaries

Lol JB you sounded like me growing up! Randomly filling in the circles on multiple choice tests the schools thought I was an idiot getting 1/4-1/2 correct. They sent me for IQ tests and were confused with the high results. If I got bored in class I would make an excuse to leave.....maybe to return, maybe not. Once I discovered ganja and started smoking several times a day I could actually sit and focus.....and learn and go on to college. I think this is the first time I ever shared how I made it through school. To this day I still get the random introvert and extrovert swings.....one minute the life of a party so to speak and the next minute crawling out the backdoor since I'm bored or don't want to be around people. Thank god for the Internet sincemost people never pick up on it when I vanish from places that can't hold my attention.
