SO the turkey has been brining since Thursday night. I used the recipe I linked earlier..and really like the “aromatics†part..apple, water, onion. Cinnamon stick then thyme and sage. Microwave for 5 minutes.
I always but carrots, celery and onion under my turkey..it keeps the skin from sticking, adds flavor and adds liquid. I rubbed the whole thing and under the skin with butter.. I roasted at 500 for 30 minutes and now on 350 till itâ€s done.
Stuffing was a tube of sausage, 12 cups breadcrumb, onion, carrot, celery, garlic chicken stock and butter.. I made this yesterday and going to heat it up in the crock pot.
I boiled up potatoes and diced rhutabaga..going to smash them up with butter, sour cream and garlic..oops maybe thatâ€s too kicked up as I am making gravy too..na!
The banana pie was really good and easy.. 3 bananas sliced ( I used a utensil from the back of the drawer to slice them) 3 cups milk, ¼ cup corn starch and vanilla at the end..heat till thick..and add to baked pie crust..bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes more. Cool
I did a chocolate silk pie too…1 can evaporated milk and 2 egg yolks..heat till thick not boiling..remove from heat and stir in 2 cups semi sweetened chocolate chips..add to graham cracker crust and chill for 3 houts…
I made veggie stock the other day with carrot, brocoli, onion, garlic cauliflower,..I am going to make a light cheesy sauce to go over that..
If you are coming carry whip cream as that is all I am missing!
