My understanding is that it will be an annual production. The cost was 1000JMD prepaid, 1200 at the door, 1500 VIP, it was held on the grounds of the resort in an area not far from the rooms, but because of the set up, if you wanted to sit on your veranda and listen you could, but if you wanted quiet, it was a matter of shutting your windows, and no disturbance.
I am from the age group that was blessed with the outdoor college campus and out door arena shows, since moving here I have been to a lot of amazing concerts and this was no exception. Queen Ifrika, and Etana 2 positive young sisters with the voices of, strenghth, love, revolution, unity, had the audience eating out of their hands, they can do no wrong. G. T. Taylor and Tony Rebel were both there, so that was an automatic comfort zone for me. Yardies and Tourist alike under the stars for a great show.
It was an all day event, with Selectors and the show began at 10. There was food, drinks and music. Rhodes Hall is a wonderful venue for this type of show and Taurrus closed the show in the wee hours of the morning. I must admit, even the opening acts were some of the best I've seen. We had a great time.
We stayed for the weekend and Rhodes Hall and the grounds and views, is one of the most beautiful places I've been to, Marcelle the manager a very sweet woman, and her staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable,a welcome, and an at home vibe.
This was one of the best shows and venues ever. Looking forward to next year.
A weekend of positive music and positive vibes that are still embracing me almost 36 hours later.
