I have friends from school going to Negril and am glad I read this, I forwarded the link to them so they could read as they were talking about diving from there. How horrendous for these people that got injured so sad.

One of the trip advisor reviews (which are all still up since June 1) stated that right after it happened there were 2 girls under an umbrella crying. The waitress came over and told them only people who were eating could be there. What a caring bunch at Rick's huh!

WTF telling people to move. Kaycee no idea why they treated you that way. Don't think they would want to hear me if they told me that. Know now why I have not patronized them. Not my idea of fun.

Angel- I have been to Negril 15+ times and never been there either.

Ha Mo and Angel- we have never been there either. Thought about it a few times, probably talked about it a few times but never went. We did go by catamaran a few times and watched. No way in hell did I get in that deep water though-lol Geez- I have pics of me at the blue hole with multiple floaties- I was worried about "floatie failure". Figured I better double up- LOL I'm not scared of water but I ain't stupid either~~~ considering I swim like a rock.

No way would I jump even before hearing about all the accidents on those cliffs.  I value life too much and my body doesn't heal that fast anymore, lol.  I certainly wouldn't go there after being treated with disrespect by the staff.

Sophie, you are too funny about the floaties, haha!

See.... that site... whew!! I had to stop reading, too. It makes me wonder how the divers are faring? They might be doing all kinds of dangerous things to their bodies but a) have to make a living and b) the ramifications may be felt years down the line. I have never been inside the gate as we're not much for touristy things to do but this seals the deal: No go.

This may seem sad to some but we have never been to any of the tourist places. Like Sophie we talk about it while at home but once we get there we are perfectly happy to stay on the beach and visit the cliffs a few times. We did see Rick's from a catamaran once while staying AI. I also wouldn't get off the boat because I can't swim so it was a one time thing.

Pelican Bar- too much money to not have a stool to sit on. If I sat on the dock I wouldn't be able to get up.

YS Falls- seen one seen them all. We have one 3 miles up the road from where we live and many others within driving distance.

The older we get the more boring we get. Not even interested in going out for loud music in the evening any more. I will leave it all to the young people and live vicariously through their trip reports.
