~The weather was certainly different. 97 degrees everyday but never broke a sweat once. The cool breeze and low humidity made for quite enjoyable weather!
~Getting around with no/minimal espanol is super easy. Just learn these easy ones and you'll be fine!
Donde esta Bano?
Cuanta Cuesta?
pescado frito por favor
pollo frito senor
mas cervesas
~The "supply"... depends on which way your heading. If its to a snow covered mountain- the supply is more than abundant, costs are low while quality high. If its to a green pasture- expect the pasture to be brown and dismal. Costs super high for amazingly low quality. Jamaica wins hand down in this category!
~Beach Bars are very different than Negril- where there is bar after bar. In CR it's "here we are!" In Negril it's more "lets stop here for a quick stripe" Check out these beach bars though for sure:
Coco Loco in Playa Flamingo
Tiki Hut in Playa Brasilito
Lola's in Playa Avenellas
~Hey Cap! Tell Linston I said hello- we'll be back soon. Probably not too soon though- as the wifey has our first one in the oven. Being so- infant airfare is less/none at all when flying to the US Virgin Islands- so we may have to go there for now... But please pass on the hello and good news to Linston!
~The 'almost arrest' incident... I was dropping a van full of mi amigos off for departure at the airport- early afternoon. Pulling into the airport, policia waved me over to the side. They asked for Rental Agreement for the van- and I didnt have it (we rented 2 vans and I think the paperwork was in the other one) He asked for passport- and I didnt have it; I did tell him how i read online that tourists shouldnt travel with it (of course he replied that a photocopy is the way to go). But amazingly (hey-I'm on vacation) I did have my license on me! He did some scanning, etc and warned me if I get pulled over again "I get arrested." Fair nuff. I played it cool and thanked him as I rode off with a lil sumtin all tucked away in my new foot bandage. Jail avoided, lesson learned!
~pics... might be a lost cause! Ill keep trying though
