Once or twice every year when I step outside just after sunset and it is shaping up to be a pleasant and warm day I catch a very familiar scent in the air. It's the unique fragrance of the island of Jamaica. The same identical scent that one smells when they arrive on the island and I'm sure everyone can identify with this. I don't know how it happens up here in Canada, and I'm not going to question it, but it is a warm reminder of one of the things that I miss and I enjoy it for the minute or so that it lasts. It happened this morning and put a smile on my face.
