I seem to recall something like this happening at Samsara, but I could be thinking of something else.

Samsara was where the woman who was swept over and lost her life. I was there when that happened (of course eh? lol). Taking pictures on the sea wall after alcohol and drugs around 3 am.

Hear ya on that Wit - I've watched many a stupid person during a wave storm stand on those exact same cliffs, "running and giggling" as a big wave washed up. Eediats. And the same goes for the eediats here in NoCal - it seems whenever we have a Tsunami warning (only twice since I've lived here) the Darwin Award candidates come out in droves to "watch" from the beach! One needs to really understand the power of the sea - be it the Carribean Sea or the Pacific Ocean or the Atlantic Ocean even...she's a bitch when she wants to be. Maximum respect required. A few years ago me and my friend were sitting on the platform down, right next to the ocean at BCC..The waves were calm..She left to go get something and I turned my head to ask her a question and SWOOSH..a fricking rouge wave came out of nowhere to pick me and toss me into the sea..after being tossed like in a washing machine -my first thought was to not get my head bashed into the cliffs..I finally managed to scramble my way up the side-with my friend and others looking on ..Had some major scraps and cuts allover my legs and arms -but other than that and being quite shaken up I was Ok...I've heard about rouge waves but never thought I would be a victim to one in Negril... I too remember the story as Fatty said above-the woman got scooped in and the husband jumped in to help..I never heard about the Jam guys who saved her until now..I was there in Negril when it happened but not at the place where it happened.I do also remember reading that staff had told them to stay away from the edge for safety reasons...

The sea is unforgiving, relentless, and never asks for ID.It could care less if you are old, young, black, white, short, tall, fat, skinny, rich or poor. It is strong,so strong that most times it's unstoppable. It never rests. I fear the sea ,I respect the sea like nothing else. After stuff happens at sea the sign should read "see !!!!" this is what happens. The sea never cries , it takes what it can whenever it can the same way that man treats it. One of my licence plates for my motorcycles reads " C 2 C "
